Mindfulness is noticing what is, in the present moment without judgement. Learning to observe our thoughts without criticism, and accepting that our thoughts are not facts, sets us on a path to a more peaceful existence.
The benefits of mindfulness include increased resilience during difficult times and a deeper appreciation of good times, reduced anxiety and stress, more fulfilling relationships and an improved immune system. Mindfulness reduces the negative impact of chronic conditions such as pain and fatigue. It has no religious affiliation, it does not require a lot of time and it is not at all complicated.
Mindful Morning Practice
Take time out on a Sunday morning to spend some time in stillness.
This mindful meditation practice group is open to anyone wanting to explore the concept of mindfulness. We will spend time discussing mindfulness and reflecting on our practice, followed by a guided meditation.
Cushions, chairs, blankets and bolsters are provided but please bring anything that helps to make your practice comfortable. We often have our greatest moments of inspiration during meditation so you might want to bring your journal too!
This group takes place one Sunday per month 10.00 – 11.15 at Yoga at the Reach, Blenheim Reach, Ecclesall Road South, Sheffield.
The cost of the class is £5. Pay on the day or book through Yoga at the Reach.
